Last week my first month in the Upper Valley at the Valley News in Lebanon, New Hampshire. It's been a great first month and I'm just falling more and more in love with this area ever single day. Working at a community paper has many differences from being at a metro paper or bigger city papers, I've enjoyed embracing those changes and most importantly, getting the know our readers.
Speaking of our readers, It's incredible how much our readership values the paper here. Especially the photography. I've had many people come up to me and ask, "which photographer are you!?, I love to follow everyone's work." I can't express what a breath of fresh air it is to have a community so excited about what we're producing at the paper.
The value and appreciation factor makes all the difference when you're working a long day, or getting your bag peed on while on assignment, or getting cow poo flung your way. I love it here…I swear :-)
Now for some pictures.
Thanks for looking!
